San Marcos River Vault, San Marcos, TX, 6/4:
Adding up the total starters in each division shows we had a total of 179 vaulters compete. Over 190 registered, however there were a number of scratches and no-shows. A sound assumption is that every vaulter is accompanied by at least 2 people (parents/family/friends), some more, some less, but 179 x 3 = approximately 537 total people... by far the biggest turnout we've had yet!

Carl Lewis Indoor Open, Houston, 1/15:

8 of our vaulters competed well today at this terrific event. In the girls competition, Chaney Turney set a new personal record at 12'5.5" to place 2nd behind National Champion Morgan LeLeux of Lousiana. Kally Long vaulted 10'11.75" to place 3rd, Nicole Summersett cleared 10'0 to place 7th, and finally Bozena Barton at a PR 9'0.25 to place 14th. In the boys competition, Daryl Burrell cleared a season-best 14'5.25" to place 5th with Mason Gill clearing a new personal best at that same height to place 6th in a field of 35 competitors. Also competing for Lone Star was Ian Aikman with a clearance at 12'5.5" and Jason Klipple with an 11'5.75" performance.
